Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

Throughout the semester I have been able to use my Individual Performance Profiles to work on my outcomes for the ATI Assessments. In the beginning of the semester I had been taking tests way too fast, which was not helping my outcomes. I also had been changing my answers on quite a bit of questions. After reviewing my profiles, I was able to work on this throughout the semester, which had been improved a little. I noticed that as I…

ATI Comprehensive Proctored Reflection

ATI Comprehensive Proctored Reflection

After doing the remediations for this assessment, I realized that I did not take nearly enough time as I should have. However, it was somewhat difficult after having such a long day to stay focused and motivated during this assessment. When I was doing the remediations I also realized how many questions I changed my answer on. I should follow my instincts when answering questions because I know the information. Before I take the NCLEX I plan to do practice…

Reflection on Aging

Reflection on Aging

Throughout this course I have been able to reflect on how I will care for the older adult population. One thing that I really took away from this course is the importance of medication reconciliation especially in the older population. We had learned previously how multiple medications can cause polypharmacy, however I never realized how common it was and that over-the-counter medications can often cause interactions. After reviewing this unit, this became a priority for me in the future when…

ATI Comprehensive Practice B Assessment Reflection

ATI Comprehensive Practice B Assessment Reflection

After doing this assessment, I was able to see that I increased my score significantly from the Comprehensive Practice A. I believe it is because I took more time on the questions and thought critically through the answers. I’m hopeful that my test taking continues to improve through the end of the semester. With the remediations I was able to see how I got the answer wrong and what I could learn from my mistake.

ATI Maternal Child Adaptive Assessment Reflection

ATI Maternal Child Adaptive Assessment Reflection

I noticed after taking this exam that I had taken more time on the questions than I had been in the past. I think this helped my score as I could take more time to look at the questions. I had noticed that I had changed my answers quite a bit, which I know I shouldn’t do. For my future exams I will try not to change any of my answers, as I know this is one of my downfalls.

ATI Proctored Pharmacology Assessment

ATI Proctored Pharmacology Assessment

After completing this assessment and remediating, I realized that pharmacology is not my strong suit. I could have taken more time on the assessment. This makes me realize that I will need to do more preparation in regards to medications before taking the NCLEX. I will take the re-take and get a better score by preparing before hand.

ATI Pharmacology Practice A Reflection

ATI Pharmacology Practice A Reflection

After reviewing and remediating on this practice assessment, I realized that I had once again not taken enough time on the questions. This is something I still really need to work on. It’s very difficult for me to just sit and read a question for a long time. For the next practice assessment I plan to take at least one minute on each question. By the end of the semester I will have taken at least 45 seconds to one…

Post-Interview Reflection

Post-Interview Reflection

What I learned from this interview is that leadership can be difficult and it is okay to step down and reevaluate. The charge nurse I had interviewed made it apparent that this position as a leader on the floor added a lot of stress into their life, resulting in a change of position to a different floor. The nurse that I had interviewed told me that there were many challenges of being a leader. Including not being respected, being dismissed,…

ATI Adaptive Pediatric Assessment Reflection

ATI Adaptive Pediatric Assessment Reflection

After reviewing my remediations for this assessment, I had realized that I had changed a lot of my answers. This is not something that I normally do, but in most of the questions that I had changed my answer I was trying to choose between two. The majority of the questions that I had changed these answers from I had the correct answer in the beginning. I tried to take more time on the questions, but I still seemed to…
