Big Data Thesis
Big data could potentially advance health care with different and new treatments that are cost efficient with data collected. However, it could possibly be a threat to privacy. Patient information could be leaked which could include family history, insurance and credit card information, and current patient conditions and treatments.
Possible sources for this paper could include:
Bates, David W., et al. Big Data in Health Care: Using Analytics to Identify and Manage High-Risk and High-Cost Patients. Health Affairs, Journal Article, July 2014.
This source can be used to show how big data will help healthcare more cost efficient in specific cases. It shows the specifics of how analyzing data will be used to make more things cost efficient.
Bernard Marr, How Big Data Is Changing Healthcare, Forbes, Journal Article, 15 Apr. 2015.
This can be used to introduce how big data is changing healthcare. The data will show different changes in the world and how these changes can be used to improve treatment and prevention in healthcare.
Joel Selanikio. The big data revolution in healthcare. TED Talk. Feb. 2013.
This TED Talk shows more data about how epidemics in the world and the data of healthcare.
My plan is to organize my sources and the information. Creating a main argument and then maybe creating a naysayer.

your thesis statement shows both sides of an argument. I can’t really tell which side you are more for, but I can definitely tell that you understand and can talk about both sides which leads into a well put two sided paper. Reaching people from both sides.
Hi, Em,
You have chosen a topic, but you will want to focus on one of those subtopics to go into enough depth. In other words, which is more interesting: data collection and cost efficiency or data collection and preventative medicine? Also, define your stance. How do you feel about the subtopic? Your sources look useful. You’ll want a few on the subtopic.
Also, I do not see a classmate’s response. Please use the dashboard to approve your peer’s comment, if there is one.
